Federal-Mogul’s Wagner light-vehicle friction catalog for that era: pads, shoes, rotors, drums, hardware, and hose notes with the grade columns shops actually read.

WC900 vs WC101 — which book is which
WC900 (1995–2019) is the primary light-truck / passenger application master we used for Ram 1500 brake year pages. That is the PDF linked at the bottom of this guide.
WC101 is the companion Wagner volume for the same era—friction / rotor / hardware focused with a by-axle layout (hose / master / wheel-cylinder rows live in WC900). Full deep guide: Wagner WC101 (1995–2019). When the two disagree on a footnote, trust the vehicle sheet you’re holding and confirm lug count / caliper piston count on the truck before you order.

How to read a Wagner application row
A typical pad/shoe block on WC900 looks like this left to right:
- Position — Front Pad & Shoe, Rear Pad & Shoe, Parking Brake Pad & Shoe
- Year stack — newest-first two-digit ranges (e.g. 18-16). Your year inside the stack means the SKU applies unless a qualifier excludes it.
- Qualifier — engine, trim, 4×2 vs 4×4, air suspension, rotor diameter, “except…” notes
- Grade columns — ThermoQuiet · QuickStop · Wagner OEX · SevereDuty (not every row fills every column)
- Qty — usually 1 axle set
Rotor / drum / hose / hardware blocks use the same year + qualifier grammar with BD / BH / H-series SKUs instead of pad prefixes.
ThermoQuiet QC vs QuickStop ZD vs OEX vs SevereDuty
- ThermoQuiet (QC…) — Wagner’s one-piece ceramic-oriented pad with the integrally molded insulator (IMI). Quieter daily-driver grade; hardware often in the box. This is the column we list first on most Ram year pages.
- QuickStop (ZD…) — Application-specific “restore like-new” friction. Same vehicle row, different feature level—not a different truck. Use when you want OE-style feel without the ThermoQuiet insulator story.
- Wagner OEX (OEX…) — Performance-oriented column on many late-model sheets. Not every Ram year fills OEX; when it’s blank, don’t invent a number from a neighboring model.
- SevereDuty (SD / SevereDuty column) — Fleet / extreme-duty friction. Police Interceptor and municipality testing language lives here. Overkill for a stock DS 1500 grocery-getter; right call for hard fleet use when the column is populated.
Footnote digits hanging off a pad SKU (the little 1,3,14 style suffixes in the PDF text extract) are catalog footnotes—not part of the Amazon search string. Strip them before you order.

Each brake year page lists front/rear pads (QC + ZD where both exist), rotors, hardware kits, and the hose splits that matter (air vs coil, 4×2 vs 4×4).
Gotchas from real catalog work
- DS numbers shared across years. 4th-gen DS Ram 1500 (roughly 2009–2018) reuses many pad and rotor SKUs across stacked years. That is normal—do not invent a unique pad per model year when WC900 prints one row for 18-16.
- Skip 2500 / DT / vans. Our HTML brake pages are Ram 1500 pickup only. 2500/3500, cargo vans, and the 2019+ 5th-gen DT platform are out of scope even when they sit near the 1500 sheets.
- 2019 Classic vs DT. 2019 is messy: “Classic” DS carryover vs new DT body. WC900 includes late Classic-style rows; DT-specific SKUs (we explicitly skip a handful of DT-only BD/BH numbers) do not belong on a DS 1500 year page. Confirm which truck is on the lift before you trust a “2019 Ram 1500” listing.
- Hose splits beat pad splits. On many DS years the pad/rotor set is one 5-stud family, but front hoses still split air suspension vs coil and 4WD vs RWD. Read the hose block even when the pad column looks “easy.”
- Lug count / rotor diameter still matter on early and heavy-trimmed trucks. A “fits all Ram 1500” Amazon kit that ignores 5-lug vs 8-lug assumptions is how you eat a restock fee.
